Srinagar May 24 (KNO) : Expressing serious concern over the Jamia Masjid clashes leading to the injuries to dozens of people after Prayers today, Senior Congress Leader Irfan Naqib strongly condemned the firing inside the Jamia premises, describing the incident as most unfortunate.

The injuries to dozens of people will lead to further chaos in the City, which can will be source of more anger among the people, emphasizing that action must be taken against those found responsible. He asked the Forces to exercise restraint while dealing with the situation.

Sincere efforts should be made to restore peace and order not only in Srinagar, but in entire valley, rather than deploying heavy contingent of police and para military forces in sensitive areas, which often leads to clashes between them (Forces) and the youth he added and emphasized the Govt to order an enquiry into Jamia clashes.
